Vasco's
(337/365) January 25, 2011
Vasco’s is a resort and museum located at Subic. The place is kinda hidden because you can’t see it if you’re not looking for it. Though there’s a big tarp near the road but in order to get to the actual restaurant, you have to go down a path. The place is popular among expats because we went there, a lot of the guests were foreigners.

Aristocrat - Subic
(335/365) January 23, 2011
When I went home to Olongapo last Saturday, we always went out to eat. My grandfather from the US didn’t want to bother my mom to cook in the house. That’s why he insisted on eating in restos to avoid the hassle. That Saturday we went to Golden Dragon and then the next day, we went to Aristocrat.
The Menu
Strawberry Shake

Modus Operandi of the Ketchup Gang →
Last time, it was the Laglag-Barya Gang and now this. Click on the link and read the story. My sister said that she witnessed this kind of modus operandi last night going home. Luckily, she was not the victim.
Guys, be careful when commuting. Alway be alert around your surroundings. Spread the word.

Golden Dragon Revisited
(334/365) January 22, 2011
My sister and I went to home to Subic because our grandfather from the US went home to visit and my brother and his wife also came home from Singapore. Of course, when there are balikbayans, eating in restaurants is a must. Maybe they missed the food here or they want to try different places.
Last time we went to the Golden Dragon was last December during my...

Don't you love it when you find hidden money...
I remembered one time way back in our younger years in college, Carlo and I were broke but we wanted to drink. We both have no classes and I think it was a Friday. We were desperate. We wanted to drink so bad that we even resorted to borrowing money but decided not to because it was just stupid and downright wrong.
When we were looking intently in our wallets for small change or bills, Carlo...

New York Pizza Palace - The Food
(332/365) January 20, 2011
Last time, I posted about the ambiance of the restaurant and now I will review the food that we tried.
The Pizzas
Grandama’s Meatballs, Supplis and other dishes
Chicken items, pasta noodles, and other dishes
I really like the way they presented the food at their buffet-style counter. The food items look really appetizing and really fresh.

New York Pizza Palace - The Restaurant
(332/365) January 20, 2011
I’m a big fan of the classic TV series Friends. Fans of the show know that the setting of the series was in New York (specifically in Manhattan). I think I’ve watched it a few times already from seasons 1-10. One of my favorite characters there is Joey. I like him because of how cool and funny he is and also because we have one thing in common. No, not his...

I’m really seeing some of these trends mentioned in the article like the international brands and chains, the tea trend, and Korean delicacies on our tables is just inevitable.

Makchang Restaurant
(329/365) January 16, 2011
I’ve tasted a few Korean dishes from different restos like Korean Palace at Malate and the Japanese-Korean resto Mashitta at Taft but I still want more. My friend suggested Makchang Restaurant to try out their specialty: Korean BBQ. Makchang Restaurant is located at Adriatico St. just across Robinson’s Place - Ermita.

Almon Marina
(328/365) January 15, 2011
Back to regular programming.
My friends and I have no plans on where to eat during this day but Robi suggested to try out this place called Almon Marina.
It’s a small restaurant in front of Greenbelt 2 and located just below a condo called The Residences. You can see in the picture of the interior below that only a few people (I think less than 30 people) can...

Wai Ying Revisited
(327/365) January 14, 2011
The very first time that I went to Wai Ying was the first time I went to Binondo and the first time that I went on a food trip. You can see the food trip that started it all here: Binondo Food Trip.
I didn’t eat lunch for this spontaneous food trip so I ordered a lot. I ordered the Roasted Duck Rice, Steamed Spareribs, and Hakaw. I also got Cold Milk Tea for...

A Reckless New Year Party 2011
(323/365) January 08-09, 2011
Last December, my friends and I had our small Christmas party at Yakimix and Barcino. Unfortunately, not all of us can attend because of busy schedule and other reasons. We decided to make another party (because we like to parteeeeeh!) for next year and here it is.
I think we planned the thing before Christmas or the last week of December and we all agreed to have...

Gloria Jean's Coffees
(323/365) January 07, 2011
After eating at the Korean Palace Restaurant, we went to Gloria Jean’s in the Pan Pacific Hotel. My friend treated me a cup of coffee since he had a discount card and it includes a whole lot of buy 1 take 1 coupons.
I ordered the Mocha Caramelatte and my friend ordered Cappucino.

Korean Palace Restaurant
(323/365) January 07, 2011
Last time, we went to Mashitta at the University Mall and I had my first taste of Bibimbap. After that, I wanted to have the real thing. The authentic kind. And this is it.
My friend Sol, one of my food trip buddies, suggested that we go to the Korean Palace Restaurant at the Malate area near the Remedios Circle. There are lots of Korean restos there but my friend...

theparadoxofthemind asked: Its a good add up to your blog. Try their Scampi Pasta if you're into seafood. My mom's favorite. Mine's their Herbed Cream Dory and their Margherita pizza. It's topped with our local cheeses as far as I can remember. And their key lime pie is a crowd favorite. They now have a pub at Ortigas. :-)
