Classic Line! haha! My Lolo just turned 93 this last Saturday (May 28). Oh yeah! He’s still strong even though he’s always saying that he’s weak. He really likes to relive his good ol’ days and tell stories about him. That’s one of his hobbies. To tell amazing stories about his experiences. My Tita and I are thinking of a project about filming my Lolo while he talks about his stories. Some kind of a memorabilia. That sounds feasible.

Happy 93rd Birthday Lolo!
Of course birthday = food. And lots of it. My cousins from Balanga, Bataan brought most of the food. Puto’t kutsinta with niyog (of course), menudo, fried chicken, kare-kare with bagoong, pancit (for long life!), watermelon and of course the chocolate cake from Goldilocks with the number 9 and 3 on top.

The family singing Lolo a Happy Birthday! :)
It was a fun day! Lots of bonding time with the cousins and a lot of eating. haha! I know my Lolo won’t read this but I just want to tell him again Happy Birthday and may you still live a long and happy life! I love you Lolo!! :)
As I was looking at my Google Analytics since I started blogging here in Tumblr, I found out that the following are my top 10 most viewed individual posts:

A post about our group’s “Christmas party” at the then newly opened Yakimix Greenbelt 3 branch.

I’m glad to help! :) Check out also my other posts about my other visits in Yakimix:
Last Sunday, my sister and I had some bonding time. She just got her bonus and she said she’ll treat me in Yakimix. Buffet = instant yes. kthxbai. haha! We decided to go to Yakimix Greenbelt 3 because she hasn’t seen the place. I went there last December 2010 with my friends in our Christmas party.
We arrived there a little bit early because Yakimix was still closed so we just reserved a table. We had some time to kill so we first decided to buy a router then my sister wanted to visit the newly opened Forever 21 store in SM Makati.
We hunted for the router first and successfully bought it at Octagon in Parksquare 1. After that, I was okay with the plan to go to Forever 21 so I decided to accompany my sister in there. At first I was like, “okay.. keep looking at clothes… I look like a bodyguard here… Check if there’s wi-fi… Nope.. Just keep walking.. Check out some chicks… Damn girl! That dress ain’t pretty on you! *snap* *snap*… okay, I’m hungry..”

Interior of Yakimix GB3
I didn’t eat lunch that time because I was busy doing some work and not purposely starving myself. Just to be clear. Okay… I’m being defensive here. Please continue reading… When hunger strikes, I get pissed off easily. So after several more minutes walking around the shop, I was like a kid whining and asking my sis to leave and go to Yakimix already. I know you’re reading this Ate, sorry about that! hehe.
Anyway, it’s already around 5:30 PM that time and I know that Yakimix can really fill up fast. And I was right. When we finally went there, our name was already skipped on the reservation list but luckily, we were first on the waiting list. It was not a long wait though. After 5 minutes, we were already seated in a large table big enough for six persons. The feast begins.

My own sushi platter
I skipped the appetizers because I was really hungry. I made my own sushi platter. Of course, I shared some of this to my sister. There were a lot of choices of sushi and I can’t remember all of the names. All I know is the orange sushi is California Maki and the yellow ones below it are Tamago.

Second Round
I just know some of the dishes in this plate. Egg foo young, baked tahong, lechon kawali, canton noodles(?). The green colored dish was veggies, on the right of that was chicken and beside that was a pork dish. I was already full by this time and also my tummy was not feeling good earlier that day so this was my last plate.
After eating, I was looking around and one young girl was holding her tummy. She looks like she was either about to cry, puke, sh*t herself or all of the above. I think she was too full. I want to tell her, ”You must learn the art of pacing, Young Grasshopper.. and learn how to stop if you are full.”

Prices of Yakimix
The verdict: The food selection were still not that many but the place is really good. It was really spacious and it looks elegant. There were also a lot of visitors in the resto since the staff keeps shouting “Irasshaimase!” every time guests arrive. The way they do this is one staff leading the guests will shout first and the other staff follows. I wanted to shout ”Irasshaimase!” and see if they would respond. haha!
I highly suggest to try out Yakimix if you’re looking for a buffet place. It’s not that expensive and the dishes are really worth it. They serve Korean, Japanese and Cantonese cuisines.
hahaha! planuhin natin yan. sa south naman tayo mag food trip para maiba!
Here’s an article that may help when you attend a formal occasion next time. We should know what to do when faced with many utensils, the way to eat in a buffet set-up, what to do with fish bones, etc.
Check out this article about restaurants in Aguirre Street in BF Homes. I haven’t been to any of these restaurants except Serenitea. Not really a milk tea fan but it’s okay. I haven’t tried their snacks yet though so I’ll give it another shot.
Anyway, have you been to any of these restos? Twenty One Plates, Pito & Mita and Raaz Mahal. The food sounds amazing. Is it also amazing in person?
I think we should plan a food trip for the South! You know we love food trips! What other places should we check out there?
I’m really a night owl but my home-based work right now has turned me into a morning person. I have to wake up and be online by 7 AM. That’s way too early for me! To get through the early call time, usually I just drink coffee and just munch on some crackers. But I want something else when I woke up one morning. I want Cello’s Doughnuts.
I was really planning to buy from Cello’s the day before. I was suppose to withdraw money from the ATM to buy the doughnuts but the machine was out of service. I promised to myself that I have to buy it the next morning. And I did.

Box of 6
For those not familiar with Cello’s Doughnuts & Dips, the Taft branch is located at Burgundy across DLSU’s Northgate. You can easily spot the place by its orange logo and it’s also right beside Bench Fix. Obviously they sell doughnuts but the unique thing about this place is you can buy a dip for the doughnuts. For the dips, they have Toblerone, Nutella, Dark Belgian Chocolate, and Dulce de Leche.
I wanted to buy the Box of 15 but it was not available so I just bought the Box of 6 (P165) and chose the flavors that looks really yummy. I was planning to buy their Nutella dip but I forgot about it! I’ll just get the dip next time I visit them again. Have you tried their doughnuts with the dip? How was it?

Chocolate, Oreo, Choco-oreo, Chocnut, Double Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter
I forgot when was the last time I ate a Cello’s doughnut so I forgot what it taste like. I chose to eat first the Oreo doughnut since it was one of the best sellers. The doughnut was really light and the sweetness was just right. It was gone after a minute! The second choice was Chocolate which is “deep fried to perfection and topped with premium chocolate glaze.” For those who’ve been reading my blog for awhile now, they would know that I’m a chocolate lover. I think the glaze was a bit thin but I still enjoyed it.
My sister has been craving these doughnuts ever since we moved to our new place. She’s a former Scholastican but she never had a Cello’s doughnut before. Since I wanted to taste the other flavors, I just bit half of each remaining doughnuts. The doughnuts were a bunch of letter C’s when my sister found them. haha!

Cello’s products and prices
I’m sure I would go back and try the other flavors and dips. For more info, check out their website at www.cellosdoughnuts.com.
Did you know that coffee and doughnuts may give a brain boost?
One night, me and my sister were suddenly craving for pizza. We searched all over the internet about the latest promos of pizza joints around the metro. We ended up ordering the Summer Pizza Madness Buy 1 Take 1 Promo by Greenwich. Which I already ordered back in Olongapo with my mom.
