Tugtugan sa 8065 Bagnet

December 11, 2010

8065 Bagnet started to have gigs in their place and I went to that first event because our friends, Batopik, is playing together with Ms. Kitchie Nadal and 3 other bands. By the way, the vocalist of Batopik is Frytz, the owner of Mga Drowing ni Prits.

Ate’s First Bagnet

September 22, 2010

Ever since my sister and I moved to our new place, she wanted to try the bagnet that I posted here. (She’s a fan. Hi Ate!! nyehehehe!) So, she bought the Binagoongang Bagnet and Ensaladang Talong for take-out from 8065 Bagnet.

Ensaladang Talong

Bagnet (the sauce of the binagoongan was separated)

The verdict: She said that it’s like lechon kawali and she’s quite right. The difference is how it’s cooked. I think it’s fried twice. Just google it if you really want to know. For those of you that don’t know what it is, Bagnet is an Ilocano dish. I still preferred the Spicy Ginataang Bagnet over the other variations.

The Ensaladang Talong was lacking an important ingredient: the green mangoes. Bagoong without the green mangoes is just wrong. Maybe they were out of green mangoes already since my sister bought the take-out near closing time. I still recommend you try 8065 Bagnet.

Bagnet 8065 Revisited

(210/365)
August 28, 2010

Just the like the first time I went Bagnet 8065. Take a look. Again, bagnet is not for the faint of heart (literally) and for those who are health conscious. You’ll be asking for an extra rice once you take the first few bites. The decoration of the place is now different. You can check the interior from this visit: Curry Meals + 8065 Bagnet. I still recommend it! So, if you haven’t tried bagnet yet, try it in 8065 Bagnet. :)

Lunch time: I ordered Menudo (P69) and Maja Maize (P15) from Victoria Corazon. Then, I went to a meeting in Makati around four in the afternoon and it went well. Then Makati traffic happened. You can read my experience of it from here: Makati Traffic, Jeepneys, etc.

I went home after the meeting and I thought Friday night was going to be a boring one. I thought I was just going to stay home and watch movies/series. Then Carlo messaged me around 8:30 pm and they wanted to eat at 8065 Bagnet. So we did. We being the usual suspects: Me, Insel, Carlo, Elroy and Frytz. Drinks at McRom’s after dinner. We chilled at Carlo and Elroys place after McRom’s. For the sake of my Project 365, the next post will be just the continuation of this night. :)

Menudo and Maja Maize

While Insel was browsing through the books in the display rack in Bagnet 8065, I noticed an Anito-looking-award. We asked the waitress who’s the owner of the award and she said it was from Kitchie Nadal. So I researched about the connection of Kitchie Nadal and 8065 Bagnet. Turns out, Kitchie Nadal’s brother is the owner of 8065 Bagnet.

Elroy just chillin’ @ 8065 Bagnet

My order: Spicy Ginataang Bagnet. Just like the first time.

The 8065 Bagnet in Leon Guinto was not the original one. The original is located in Estrella St. Makati. If you want to know more about the original place, you can in this post by Clickthecity.com: Bagnet 8065. You can see in one of the pictures a wall full of “vandals”. The Leon Guinto branch have it too and we got a chance to write something in it.

Insel, Carlo and Elroy with the wall of “vandals”

We were trying to find spots that were noticeable. Carlo wrote his message on the ceiling. I wrote mine in the top frame of the doorway. Elroy wrote his on the top left side wall of the doorway. Insel wrote hers on the bottom left wall of the doorway which I don’t have a picture of. (Sorry Insel!)

Carlo wrote, “MASAKIT NA ANG BATOK KO DAHIL SA BAGNET - GONES”

I wrote, “GELOREYES.TUMBLR.COM WAS HERE -> CHECK IT OUT”

I think Elroy wrote, “LROY WAS HERE”

We went to McRoms for the usual Friday night. Do you have any suggestions where to drink near the Taft area? We’re getting bored with McRoms. Central Taft is too far and a bit crowded.

I learned a new term during this evening and the term was: Frape. It’s defined by Urban Dictionary as:

A combination of the words ‘Facebook’ and ‘Rape’. The act of Raping someones Facebook profile when they leave it logged in. Profile pictures, sexuality and interests are commonly changed however fraping can include the poking or messaging of strangers from someone else’s Facebook account.

Carlo was fraped by Elroy during that night. Changed his status to, “I want to eat hotdogs.” Carlo said it was liked by his highschool batchmate that is now gay. hahahaha!

Just chillin’

Kuya Noel’s acoustic performance

Frytz jammed with Kuya Noel and sang two songs

Food, Friends and Fun!

(140/365)
June 18, 2010

Friday/Saturday = Tokyo-tokyo, Starbucks, 8065 Bagnet, McRoms, Gweillos, World Cup, drinks, food, friends and fun!

Had a snack with Connie at Tokyo-tokyo and I ordered California Maki (8 pcs) since I’m not that hungry yet. Then, we went to Starbucks while waiting for RB but damn the traffic! He came a few minutes late so I have to leave and go meet Meg.

California Maki (8 pcs)

Hot Signature Chocolate for Connie and Caramel Macchiato for me

I met Meg at 8065 Bagnet and this was her first time there but it was not her first time eating the bagnet of 8065. I’ve introduced the place to a lot of friends and I think they should start paying me. =P She ordered the Binagoongan Bagnet (P105) while I ordered the Kare-kare Bagnet (P105). She was already eating when I was about to shoot her food so… I only shot what was left of the food and her satisfied grin. =P

Meg’s first time at 8065 Bagnet

After 8065 Bagnet, we went straight to McRoms to wait for the others. It’s located along Leon Guinto near Sherwood. I think you can spot it by looking for the green lights.

Question: What’s common among the three persons in the picture above??
Answer: They are the contributors of the group PasaSaMgaBusy including yours truly
(from L-R)

Meg - owner of Corporate slave by day, hedonist by night and the newly formed unconventional project 365 blog, A Snapshot of a Memory

Frytz - creator of the website Mga Drowing ni Prits that’s on hiatus right now but still follow him and wait for the magic to happen! =P

RB - the original creator of the ParaSaMgaBusy because he’s too busy with work and the proud owner of this project 365 blog —>

the rest of the gang and me

After McRoms, we went Gweillos for the World Cup match between England and Algeria. It was the first time for the most of us and one time, Meg has to explain what an offside is. Rare moment: girl explaining about sports to guys. =P Anyway, that particular game sucks so I still don’t like football. hahaha! Maybe because I was sleepy, drunk or just because that game sucked! =P Peace football lovers!

First day funk! I thought I was gonna miss my class but I woke up just in time. I’ve got only three subjects and my classes are just from Monday-Wednesday. bleh! =P Forgot to eat lunch so I just ate lunch after class. I ordered from the one and only, Victoria Corazon! =P

Beef Curry (P125)

I fell asleep around 6 pm because my sleep is irregular then I woke up to a text or a call of EJ around 8:30 PM. He just finished class and since I’m feeling hungry, I asked if he wanted to eat at the newly decorated 8065 Bagnet and he agreed. When I first tried 8065, I just bought take-out because 1) I was alone and 2) the place smells like paint. When I visited again, the place was different :)

Inside the 8065: The front counter and shelves on the side with books.

There are also artworks hanging on the wall

Another view of the place. Mirrors are placed there to have the illusion of a bigger space. (Photo c/o EJ)

EJ ordered Kare-kare Bagnet (P105) Can you see the happiness in his face?

I ordered the Curry Bagnet (P105)

If your in Taft, try Victoria Corazon or 8065 Bagnet. Victoria Corazon is just a take out place but they deliver around the La Salle area. You can see their contact number in their menu which I posted. It’s an outdated version but their contact information is still the same.

8065 Bagnet is located in Leon Guinto right beside the Providence Tower and in front of Dematisse. There’s big sign of the place anyway and I think you can’t miss it.

Wanna see other Victoria Corazon food? or Check out other places in Taft?
