This was a spontaneous food trip with my friends. We didn’t really had any plans on where to eat and what to do. That’s what I like about them. haha! My friend suggested we try Ying Ying Tea House. They already went there before but I haven’t tried it yet so we decided to eat there.
You can check out the map at the end of this post to know the exact location of Ying Ying Tea House.
Sol serving tea
This food trip was months ago so I already forgot what we ordered and I forgot to take note of the names of the dishes that we ordered. hehe.
This is being an annual thing for us friends. Last year we also went to Binondo to buy some mooncakes and then we also went to Wai Ying afterwards. This year when we went there to buy mooncakes, the rain was really pouring. My friends had to buy umbrellas since their plan on just running in the rain won’t work anymore. We bought the mooncakes at the Royal Garden Restaurant, same as last year.
Black Mongo Twin Yolk
After buying mooncakes, we went to Wai Ying for dinner. We had to wait for a while. The place was full of people enjoying their noodles and hot tea. When our table was ready, I ordered the Asado Siopao and the Beef Congee, perfect for that rainy night.
After the Visprint’s WIT event, we went to Binondo to buy mooncakes. Mid-autumn festival was a few days away but I guess we just used that as an excuse to buy mooncakes. haha! You can buy mooncakes in Binondo anytime you want. I bought this mooncake in the Royal Garden Restaurant where you can buy the best mooncakes. (check out the map at the end of this post to know the location)
Twin Yolk Black Mongo
Since our friend was craving for the milk tea of Wai Ying, we went there to eat dinner. I’ve been to Wai Ying a couple of times and I really enjoy their food.

I ordered Hakaw and also ordered Beef Congee to compare the Beef Congee I tried in Singapore. Unfortunately, there’s no picture of the Beef Congee of Wai Ying. I can’t explain it but I know I did took a picture of it but when I transferred the pics in the computer, I can’t find it. I always take a picture of what we’re eating. Especially what I am eating. But I couldn’t find it. Oh well. The Beef Congee was in a huge bowl and you don’t even have to season it. It was filling and really good.

Check out the map below to know the location of Wai Ying and also to the right of Wai Ying is the Royal Garden Restaurant.

Pangarap Lang Kita - Parokya ni Edgar feat. Hapee Sy
Nice song. I believe that this was shot in Binondo at the Chuang Kee resto. I haven’t been there yet even though I’ve been to Binondo a few times. I think I’ll visit this resto the next time I visit the place.
