The Usual
I was lazy to cook lunch because I came from class. So, I bought the usual Fried Siomai from Eric’s. I really should stop buying from Eric’s and explore the other options around my place. I haven’t fully explored the New Agno yet. By the way, Agno is a place near the Com Sci building of DLSU that contains food stalls that is student-budget friendly.
To those who visit Agno, what do you suggest I try next time I go there?

October 26, 2010

A very late lunch after I slept for around 2-3 hours because of our early bus ride mentioned in the previous post. I also took care of the processing of our internet connection in our place. I’m just illegally connecting in an open network connection here. Thanks neighbor!

I ate lunch around 4:30 PM already. I can’t decide what to eat so I just ordered Tocino and siomai from Eric’s Siomai

Maki, Dumplings & Peppers

Hello to the people who are still awake at this hour! :) Here’s a treat for you. =P

A Maki Platter, Wanton Dumplings, Fried Siomai, Quail Eggs (Kwek-kwek) and Sweet and Sour Pork (that should be Sweet and Sour Bell Peppers). Enjoy!

Sushi + Dumplings + Kwek-kwek = omnomnomnom!

Sweet & sour pork that tastes like bell peppers

The Maki platter and the sweet sour pork were from Value Foods. I didn’t like the Sweet and Sour because the taste of the bell peppers were overpowering the pork. The dumplings and other stuff were from Eric’s Siomai.

By the way, if you haven’t recommended anyone yet, please recommend me in the Food Directory by going to my homepage and clicking the recommend button there (you can also participate in the short poll also located in the sidebar) or you can click the link below:

Thanks guys! :)

Wanton & Ati-atihan

September 20, 2010

I just stayed the whole day again at home because I’m busy doing something. I just got out of the house to buy food. I have the option to cook again but I don’t want to eat left overs again.

I’ve been wanting to try the new dumpling of Eric’s Siomai, the Wanton Siomai. So, I ordered the 8 pcs Wanton Siomai with rice (P60) for lunch. It was tastier than Eric’s ordinary pork or beef siomai. I like it.

Wanton Siomai

I wanted to try everything in the vicinity of our new place because I haven’t been in this area for a quite awhile. The day after we moved in, my sister and I did a “perimeter check”. We even went as far as Quirino then back to Estrada Street then check the restos in the EGI Tower. One of the places that caught my eye was Chicken Ati-atihan.

Yesterday, I got the chance to try it for dinner. I bought their specialty, their chicken barbeque, Chicken Ati-atihan (P85 with rice, P75 w/o rice) and I also ordered Chicken Skin (P75).

Chicken Ati-atihan

Chicken Skin

The verdict: I did believe in their tagline, “We didn’t invent chicken barbeque, we perfected it”. Just the aroma of it makes you hungry. The sweet smell of its sauce penetrating your nostrils will make your mouth water. You can also tell that the chicken is grilled to perfection. And did I mention that it’s huge? You’ll really need an extra rice if you order this for take-out. (They have unlimited rice if you order this for dine-in)

For the chicken skin, what’s not to like? It’s chicken skin! =p I really know what’s not to like. Chicken skin is very high in cholesterol so be careful not to eat a lot of it. Anyway, you’ll know for sure that it’s clean unlike the chicken skin that you see that are being sold in the streets. This chicken skin, one bite and you’ll hear, crrrrrrruunnchhh. oooh yeah! =P The only thing that I didn’t like about this is it is paired with a Mang Tomas sauce. I mean, wtf?! Nasaan ang sukaaaa?? Am I right or am I right?? I still enjoyed though and I definitely recommend you check out Chicken Ati-atihan in EGI Tower. :)
