My Favorite Victoria Corazon Combo
May 25, 2012

If you’ve been an old follower of my blog, you know that I always order from Victoria Corazon. This is my favorite combination to order, the Bagoong Rice and the Grilled Liempo. The quality of the grilled liempo is not the way it used to be anymore though but the bagoong rice is just as good as before.

If you want to know where Victoria Corazon is, just go to my home page and click the Locator at the sidebar. There’s a guide there on how to find the place you’re looking for.

My New Found Love: Dats Mix

March 27, 2012

Before going to Cello’s Doughnuts that time, I went first to Dats Mix to have lunch. I was actually going around Taft during that week to take pictures and try out the Taft restos that I haven’t tried yet for my school project. That’s why I made this Gastro Guide Map for that same school project.

Anyway, Dats Mix has been in Taft for quite a long time. I gave it a try because I’ve recently read some good stuff about the resto. It was love at first bite.

Interior

The place is just small with simple interior. Just these white, orange, and green chairs with white tables. A few simple pictures hanging on the wall and a picture of their food on the other side. I think it can get really cramped during lunch time or peak hours.

There’s a small “second floor” area where you can eat seating down and just chill. When I went there around late afternoon, someone was sleeping there. I think it was just one of the staff having his siesta.

I ordered their Grilled Liempo (P95) because their Bagoong Rice is not available (but I did order it a few days later. I’ll post it soon). As you can see in the picture above, the liempo is served with half salted egg or itlog na pula, slices of tomatoes and green mangoes. Yum!

Kaninan na!

March 28, 2012

Nope. The title is not a typo. I just recently tried Rice: taft avenue again right after meeting with Teesh to get the free cookies. I just called for delivery since I was too lazy to go outside because of the hot weather. I tried their Cheese Beef Steak paired Beef Rice and Liempo with Bagoong Rice.

Taft Day: Pigging Out at Chic-Boy Agno

March 24, 2012

My plans for Saturday evening was cancelled because it rained heavily and streets were flooded. I was stuck at Taft. My sister and I were lazy to go somewhere else so we just ate at Chic-Boy Agno for dinner.

We ordered the Cebu Lechon Manok (P99) and Cebu Lechon Liempo (P99) meals also known as CB-5 and CB-6 respectively. We also ordered the Lechon Sisig (P99)

Manang’s Triple Treat

December 19, 2011

Sometimes, when I’m really hungry (which is always), I order two meals just for myself. But I only do this when I’m home alone. hehe. That is why I ordered my two meals and an appetizer for lunch from Manang’s. I’m really loving Manang’s since it’s just below our building and it just takes less than 20 minutes for my order to arrive.

I wanted to try their other food so I ordered their Garlic Pork Liempo with Rice (Solo - P89) and I also ordered the 1-pc Cut with Rice (Solo - P84). For appetizer, I ordered the large Manang’s Chips & Dips. For the dip, I chose the Garlic Mayo. The other option is Creamy Cheese.

I recommend to just stick to the chicken when ordering in Manang’s. There’s nothing special about the Garlic Liempo other than it’s full of garlic bits. Maybe if they can give some sauce in the liempo, that would be perfect. I still love their chicken and the chips. I might try the other dip next time. If you still haven’t tried Manang’s Chicken, what are you waiting for?

We bought the liempo in the supermarket and it’s already marinated. I think we got around half kilo or 1/4 kilo of liempo which contains 2 big pieces of liempo. I just pan-fried it since we don’t have a grill here. The marinade is really good. We also cooked this during my last birthday but my friend Robi double marinated the liempo so it was extra good.

Cebu Lechon LiempoDecember 13, 2011
