Black Mamba from Zark’s Burgers
Cheeseburger in a bed of fresh lettuce, tomato, sauteed mushroom and caramelized onions then topped with barbeque rum sauce. (P125)
My dinner earlier tonight after my class. Zark’s is still jam packed until their closing time so it took a long time before our order came. Me and my friend were so hungry so we immediately ravaged the burger the moment it landed on our table. It was heavenly! This burger is just in the Minor League category of their burger menu but it was still worth it.

Jawbreaker 6 Day 2

February 11, 2012

Here’s an overdue post about the 2nd day of the Jawbreaker 6 Promo at Zark’s Burgers. The Jawbreaker day is an annual promo for the Jawbreaker burger which is one of the very unique burgers at Zark’s. Check out the poster below:

Our plan was to go on the first day of the promo, which is the day for people with reservations, but unfortunately I couldn’t make a reservation since Zark’s Burgers’ phone line was always busy. So we just went during the 2nd day. We went there around 3:30 PM to find out that the last person in the line is already in front of Yellow Cab! The line was that long! It even reached Tapa King around 5 PM! Many people gave up. It’s either they went to Army Navy or Yellow Cab. haha! But the long line didn’t stop us! So we waited… for THREE hours. We got inside the resto around 6:30 PM. All for the love of Jawbreaker. And also because we’re cheapskates. haha!

The long line of people

Below is Chef Zark right there in the chef’s whites with the lady security guard under the Jawbreaker 6 poster.

We waited around 10 more minutes before being served since there were a lot of people, mostly in big groups, inside the place. The guests were not given any fork and knife as seen in the sign below. It’s all part of the experience!

And the Jawbreaker was served in all its juicy towering glory. Triple patty, cheese, spam, bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomatoes sandwiched in a bun.  (Sorry for the crappy picture. This picture doesn’t justify the meaty goodness of the Jawbreaker.)

Just look at the satisfied orgasmic face of my friend Adj below! Let me just share again what he said when I showed him about this promo: That glorious perversion of carnivorous delight shall become a part of me.” And it did become a part of him.

So for all of you who haven’t tried Zark’s yet, what are you waiting for? Fuck the calories!! haha!

Cheese Fries and Candy Bacon Burger

from Zark’s Burgers. Candy Bacon Burger is a cheeseburger topped with caramelized bacon and the Cheese Fries is topped with cheese sauce with bacon bits and comes with a garlic mayo dip. yummmm!

Zark’s Burgers: The Food-Inducing-Coma Burger Joint

January 29, 2012

Finally, I have my camera when me and my sister ate at Zark’s Burgers. We went there on a Sunday night but the place was still jampacked with groups of students and even families. I’m quite amazed on how the resto expanded. Before, it was just a small area. Maybe around 5-6 tables on a corner of the Archer’s Nook Building. Now, it has expanded through the previous area of the Reyes BBQ resto and the extension area of the Slice n’ Dice resto. I think soon, it will be expanding around malls and other school areas.

If it’s your first time at Zark’s, you will have a hard time deciding on what to get since there are a lot of choices. There are other foods other than burgers in Zark’s. Like rice meals, chips, fries, ribs, and hotdogs. If you’re on a diet, stay away from Zark’s Burgers but if it’s your cheat day or you just don’t give a damn, go ahead and indulge in the sinful calories. We are on the latter category. haha! My sister ordered the Candied Bacon Burger while I ordered the Crunchy Barbecue Burger. For dessert, we ordered the Deep Fried Snickers.

Candied Bacon Burger  -Cheese burger topped with caramelized bacon (P170)

Crunchy Barbecue Burger - Flame-grilled half pound spicy burger topped with hand-cut potato chips and choice of barbecue sauce (P185)

Deep-fried snickers with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

Zark’s Burgers: Round 2

November 25, 2011

Disclaimer: All of the photos in this post are not mine. I got them from Zark’s Burgers Facebook account here.

What started out as a day for school and personal stuff for me and my friend, ended in a glorious and batok-hurting dinner at Zark’s Burgers. The first time I tried Zark’s was back in August last year. I just took my food home since the place before was small. It’s located at the 2nd floor of Archer’s Nook just right above Army Navy and Yellow Cab. I guess the business was great so they expanded their place in the area of Reyes BBQ.

After doing all the school errands and banking stuff, we were looking for some place to pass time. I haven’t eaten lunch yet and my friend wanted to kill time to let the rush hour pass. I mentioned about Zark’s Burgers and he didn’t know about the place. I compared their burgers to the Epic Mealtime’s “food experiments”. He got curious so I bought him there.

We got seated and we were handed the menu. My friend’s eyes lit up once he got a good look at the menu. He was like a kid in a candy store. He couldn’t choose what to get. I was also confused on what to get because all the burgers are awesome. Check it out below:

If you can’t see the menu, just download it here.

Finally, we decided to order the Stone Cold Stunner and the 1/2 Pound Deep Fried Burger (!). The Major League burgers are served with hand-cut potato fries and iced tea. Just add P20 and the drinks are unlimited. They also serve other foods like rice meals, ribs, hotdogs, sandwiches, and desserts.

I finally tried Zark’s Burgers located in front of DLSU-Manila on top of Army Navy and Yellow Cab. It’s a really small place and the rumors are true, when you go out of there, you’ll smell like a burger. =P But you know what? It’s all worth it. :)

I ordered Fish n’ Chips and Zark’s Ultimate Burger for take out since the place was already full and I was really hungry. Check out their menu here

Fish n’ chips with tartar sauce

Zark’s Ultimate Burger (“1/2 pound burger with cheese in a bed of fresh veggies and then topped with sautéed mushrooms and bacon”)

Tartar sauce and ketchup for dips

I was suppose to order Chix n’ Chips but it was not available so I went with Fish n’ Chips and I’m glad I did. The fish was crispy and I love the breading of the fish together with tartar sauce. The fries is a bit oily but it’s big and I like big servings. hehe. I was disappointed with the Zark’s Ultimate Burger. I thought it would look delicious but it didn’t look like this. The bread was soggy and the veggies didn’t look like that in the picture. The burger patty was good though. I might try to eat there again but for dine-in. The I think the bread became soggy because of the moisture while wrapped in the foil.

The verdict? I still recommend it! I think the best way to enjoy their burgers is to eat at Zark’s Burger. They also have EPIC burger challenges. Check out their facebook page for more info: Zark’s Burgers

Check out some other burgers that I already ate or other places in Taft
